MEET THE TEAM DRIVING THE OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE MAYOR

Willie Conradie

Sarine van Niekerk

Sarine van Niekerk

Principal Administrator

One of his favourite sayings is "think the whole circle". This is to say, rather than just thinking outside the box, think things through all the way to the end.

Willie is an alumnus of Stellenbosch University who started his career in training and development of local government administrators across South Africa.

Willie has over two decades of experience in civil service at Senior Management and Executive Management level, and although soft-spoken and preferring to give others the limelight, is a vast source of wisdom and experience for our Mayoral Committee and the Directorate of Mossel Bay.

Having completed a Bachelor of Business Studies at the CTI Education Group Port Elizabeth Campus , Sarine has previously worked in Administration: Academics & Logistics at the South African Institute for Heritage Science and Conservation.

Every Monday morning Sarine and I have a meeting, where we discuss diary management and my key priorities in the week ahead. This is augmented with regular ad-hoc meetings during the week.

Sarine started with me during a busy time of 2023, we were wrapping up the inaugural Mossel Bay Arts & Culture Festival, kicked off our 10th Sports & Recreation Festival , celebrated Tourism month, and celebrated our 10th Annual Thusong Centre Service Delivery Outreach week.

Now, in 2025 as Sarine takes a bit of time off, I can say that she has become an essential part of the office and a linchpin to the team, assisting with everything from Mayoral Golf Days to Mayoral Breakfast events. Sarine always pushes herself to do better while ensuring to treat each and every single person she interacts with (which is often more than any one person should have to) with care, compassion and patience.
